Erika Pastrana is a scientifically trained Editorial Director with 13 years of experience identifying the most influential advances and key trends in science, convening key opinion leaders and working with scientists, editors and publishers with the goal of adapting scientific publishing practice in support of innovation and open science. She is experienced at working with publishing technology platforms and leading initiatives to advance and expand scientific publishing to support sharing of scientific objects and ensuring journals achieve business and editorial success. Erika has experience managing a large team of over 60 editors globally. She is a critical thinker, driven and passionate about external engagement and communication. Postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University and PhD in Molecular Biology and Neurosciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
