
Fiona originally trained as a psychologist, and then undertook a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science. After a postdoc back in Psychology, she worked in Environmental Decision centres for roughly a decade before returning to History and Philosophy of Science.
Fiona was the founding president of the Association for Interdisciplinary Metaresearch and Open Science (AIMOS) and a member of the steering committee of the Australian Reproducibility Network (AusRn). She is also a member of the Australian Academy of Science’s National Committee for History and Philosophy of Science.
She has an abiding interest in statistical practices, particularly statistical controversies, for example, the ongoing debate over Null Hypothesis Significance Testing.
