Frank is a member of the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Virginia Commonwealth University. His research spans the areas of human resource management, organizational behavior, and organizational research methods. He is especially interested in employee staffing (e.g., employee selection), cognitive ability testing, meta-analysis, big data, open science, and approaches for summarizing entire scientific literatures. His research appears in outlets such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Organizational Research Methods, and Personnel Psychology.
Frank is Director of metaBUS.org, a winner of the 2013 National Endowment for the Humanities’ Digging into Data Challenge and funded by the National Science Foundation, SHRM Foundation, the VCU Presidential Research Quest Fund, and other sources. The project enables more than 1,000 scientists and practitioners to make sense of more than 1,000,000 research findings by navigating an easy-to-understand “map” of constructs that conducts instant meta-analyses on virtually any topic in the scientific space.
