Metascience is moving to the mainstream – and shaping research worldwide. Since the first gathering in 2019, the biennial Metascience conferences have become the most influential meeting point for researchers, funders, policymakers and innovators committed to studying and improving the science system itself.
From Monday 30th June to Wednesday 2nd July 2025, we will be hosting Metascence 2025, the largest, most exciting and diverse meeting yet — a global metascientific summit bringing together 650 speakers and delegates for three days of discussion, debate and exchange of new evidence and ideas. The meeting will take place at University College London (UCL), in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter.
With a focus on institutions, innovations, and alliances, Metascience 2025 will explore how metascience can drive change: shaping policy, leveraging new methods and AI, and building longer-term infrastructures for open and effective research.
We are delighted to have received over 500 submissions to our recent Call for Proposals – an incredible response which reflects the growth and dynamism of the global metascience community. Our team of reviewers is now hard at work assessing these and finalising the programme, with multiple parallel tracks covering a wide range of topics to choose from each day.
Metascience 2025 will include a programme of free virtual pre-conference symposia from mid-June, aiming to expand the international conversation on key metascience topics ahead of the conference itself.

Travel bursaries are available
We recognise that London can be an expensive city to visit, and we don’t want financial constraints to prevent anyone from participating in the conference.
Thanks to the generous help of Metascience 2025 partners and supporters, we are able to provide a number of travel bursaries to early-career researchers and others who require assistance with travel and accommodation costs. Details about how to apply can be found on the funding page.
