We want Metascience 2025 to be a diverse and inclusive meeting – reflecting the rich landscape of metascience worldwide.

We realise that London can be an expensive city to visit. In an ideal world, we don’t want anyone to be prevented from participating by financial constraints or concerns.

With the generous help of Metascience 2025 partners and supporters, we are able to provide a number of travel bursaries for researchers around the world in the earlier stages of their career, who need some financial support with travel and accommodation costs in order to participate.

If you would like to apply for a travel bursary, please complete the application form, plus a 1-page letter of support from your research team leader, supervisor or head of department, to the upload link within the form, named to clearly indicate your full name.

The form will ask for some basic information about your current role, what you hope to contribute or expect to gain by attending Metascience 2025, and why you need travel support. 

The letter of support is intended to validate your identity, relevant interests and potential contribution to the conference.

The deadline to apply for a bursary is 31 March 2025.

All applications will be reviewed and bursaries will be awarded according to eligibility and stated needs. Priority will be given to those who have submitted a proposal to participate in the conference, and wish to attend from outside the UK. 

A small number of bursaries are reserved for applicants from Canada, thanks to the generous support of SSHRC.

Awards will be provided to assist with travel, accommodation, and conference registration fees, subject to our available budget.

Bursaries will be in full or partial reimbursement of expenses. Recipients must submit receipts as proof of travel.

Bursary recipients will be selected ASAP after the application deadline. All applicants will be notified of the outcomes within a month of the closing date of 31 March 2025.
