Abstract Our presentation will introduce the metaBUS project to participants. metaBUS is a collection of over one million curated applied psychology findings extracted from publications dating back to 1980. metaBUS allows users to instantly ascertain correlation magnitudes between constructs (i.e., to conduct instant meta-analyses) using text-based or taxonomy-based queries. Our presentation will provide insight into the construction of the metaBUS ontology/taxonomy, semi-automatic finding extraction process, tips for specifying effective database queries, and a review of the nearly 19,000 queries thus far submitted to metaBUS by its 1,200 users. Additionally, we will apply big-data visualizations to show how applied psychology has evolved over the years. The metaBUS platform facilitates student training, the meta-analytic process, the public understanding of science, and the conduct of meta-science. Participants will be introduced to new resources and methods that they can use in their research. We hope our presentation will inspire participants to consider establishing similar efforts.
