Abstract Are you fed up with slow peer review processes, hefty publishing fees, and the lack of openness in scholarly publishing? Do you think the metaresearch community needs more dedicated publication channels, run by and for the community?
If you do, please join us at the end of Day 1 for an introductory discussion of MetaROR (MetaResearch Open Review), a platform for publication and peer review being developed by the Association for Interdisciplinary Meta-Research and Open Science (AIMOS) and the Research on Research Institute (RoRI).
MetaROR will adopt a publish-review-curate model. Articles will first be published on a preprint server and then go through an open peer review process. Based on the outcomes of this process, the editors of MetaROR will then publish an editorial assessment. MetaROR is expected to launch in the second half of 2023. We are keen to get feedback on this idea and to explore how you might contribute to MetaROR, as an author, reviewer, editor, or in other ways.
To open the discussion, Simine Vazire (University of Melbourne and AIMOS) and James Wilsdon (RoRI and University College London) will outline emerging plans for MetaROR, and outline how it aims to change how metaresearch is published and peer reviewed, while complementing the existing journal publishing system. No need to register – everyone is welcome!
